Zamir Kazi

Zamir Kazi

CEO

Zamir Kazi is the Founder and CEO of ZMR Capital. He began his real estate career in 2013, buying and flipping duplexes after attending Florida State University. In 2014, he founded Berkshire Property Holdings—later rebranded as ZMR Capital—to acquire and reposition multifamily properties nationwide. Over the past nine years, Zamir has led the acquisition of more than $1.75 billion in multifamily assets. He has been recognized as one of GlobeSt.’s “50 Under 40” and was named a finalist for EY’s Entrepreneur of the Year. Zamir is also an active investor and board member in several early-stage companies, a member of YPO, and dedicates significant time and resources to charitable organizations.

He splits his time between Los Angeles and Tampa, where he lives with his wife, two children, and their Goldendoodle.

Crystal DiJoseph

CFO

Crystal DiJoseph is the CFO of ZMR Capital. She brings significant fund, real estate, and technology experience to the team with a mix of public and private accounting. She has deep experience with valuation techniques, financial analysis, modeling, process improvement, deal structuring, fund accounting, compliance and investor relations. Crystal was formerly a part of the InvestRes team in the multi-family real estate space where she served as the Controller overseeing a portfolio of 1.5 billion AUM consisting of traditional funds and joint venture deals. She was responsible for reporting, performance tracking, budgeting, compliance, investor relations, capital accounts and monthly close processes.

Crystal obtained her Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees from the University of South Florida and is a registered Certified Public Accountant with the State of Florida. Crystal is also an avid volunteer in the community.

Zachary Oseland

Director of Legal Operations

Zachary “Zach” Oseland is the Director of Legal Operations at ZMR Capital. Before joining ZMR Capital, he was a Director at Veridis Management, a litigation finance fund, where he served as its primary underwriter and asset manager. Previous to that, Zach was the Compliance Director for a multifamily real estate investment fund that grew from $125 million under management and 50 employees to $1.5 billion under management and 400 employees during his tenure.

Zach holds a J.D. from Duke University School of Law and B.A.s in Spanish and Political Science from the University of Florida.

Sid Martins

VP OF CONSTRUCTION

Sid Martins is the VP of Construction at ZMR Capital. He brings over 18 years of experience in multifamily real estate and new construction. He began his career as a union project manager in New York, overseeing more than $1 billion in ground-up construction, including high-rise developments in Manhattan and Westchester, HUD housing, and multifamily communities. In 2011, Sid relocated to Tampa, Florida, where he joined a leading multifamily property and construction management firm.

Since then, he has led the renovation of over 15,000 apartment units and managed more than $500 million in asset preservation and value-add projects across Florida and other markets.

Mike Weiner

Director of Asset Management

Mike Weiner serves as the Director of Asset Management at ZMR Capital, where he oversees the firm’s portfolio strategy and drives performance enhancement initiatives. His work centers on strategic asset oversight, financial optimization, and streamlining portfolio operations to ensure sustained long-term value and growth. Prior to joining ZMR Capital Mike worked with MetLife Investment Management, PGIM, and KH Equities acquiring, asset managing, and financing over $2 billion of multifamily, industrial, and retail properties throughout the US. During that period Mike invested across the risk spectrum, deploying capital for both opportunistic and core strategies.

Mike earned his BBS in Real Estate and Urban Land Economics from the University of Wisconsin– Madison.

Nicole Chang

VP of Asset Management

Nicole Chang is the Vice President of Asset Management at ZMR Capital where she leads the strategic oversight and performance optimization of the firm’s Western U.S. portfolio. She focuses on proactive asset management, business planning, and operational efficiencies to maximize long-term value. Nicole brings nearly 20 years of institutional experience, having held senior roles at Clarion Partners and MetLife Investment Management. Over the course of her career, she has managed over $3.3 billion in real estate assets, including ground-up development, across all property types and risk profiles. Her expertise spans portfolio strategy, capital planning, leasing, and financial analysis, with a proven track record of optimizing complex real estate investments.

Nicole holds an MBA from USC’s Marshall School of Business and a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate & Law from Cal Poly Pomona.

Evan Kirkpatrick

Director of Accounting

Evan Kirkpatrick is the Direct of Accounting at ZMR Capital. He has immense experience in the real estate, construction, and hospitality space with a mixture of public and private accounting. Specifically, his expertise includes financial analysis and modeling, fair value techniques and accounting, process advisory/improvement, deal structuring, fund accounting, compliance, and investor relations. Evan was formerly an Assurance Manager in the Ernst & Young (EY) Real Estate & Hospitality Sector, where he served an array of public REITS and private equity funds across multi-family, single family, office & retail, and senior living communities. He also has a Masters of Accounting from the University of Tennessee.

He is a Certified Public Accountant in Florida and Georgia. Evan also manages his own portfolio of single family and short-term rentals.

Chip Gates is the VP of Acquisitions at ZMR Capital where he leads the Eastern U.S. region, bringing over 15 years of experience in commercial and multifamily real estate. Throughout his career, he has specialized in sourcing, evaluating, negotiating, and closing multifamily transactions nationwide. Prior to joining ZMR Capital, Chip was involved in the acquisition of more than 25,000 units, representing over $2 billion in total transaction volume. He began his career in the securitization departments of law firms in New York City.

Chip holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Hobart College and is a licensed real estate salesperson in the State of Florida.

ACQUISITIONS ANALYST

Zac Moreno is an Acquisitions Analyst at ZMR Capital where he is responsible for research and the underwriting of new acquisitions to ensure all opportunities presented are thoroughly vetted and considered. Prior to ZMR Capital, he was on the Portfolio Management team at TruAmerica where he was responsible for the underwriting and disposition of assets across the portfolio. Zac previously worked at a family office with sizable and diverse holdings in real estate, operating businesses, early-stage tech, and other public and private investments as an investment analyst with a focus on multi-family real estate transactions.

Throughout his career, he has participated in over $1 billion of transaction volume in real assets. Zac holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Real Estate from Indiana University Bloomington.

Phillip Liang

Phillip Liang

Phillip is responsible for all facets of the firm’s acquisitions throughout the US. He targets opportunistic, value-add properties that have an inviting narrative and a significant upside potential.

Phillip ensures that only properties that match ZMR’s strict underwriting criteria progress through to completion. He maintains a vast network of contracts, from his 15 years in the industry, that he utilizes to source off-market transactions.

Prior to joining ZMR, Phillip Liang completed his BA in Business Administration from FSU. He has helped ZMR acquire over 7000 Units amounting to over 1.8 billion in transactions. Also, he has vast experience in dealing with EB-5 investors through his prior experience working with the company ABGCOS.

Senior Acquisitions Analyst

Kevin Mawby is a Senior Acquisitions Analyst at ZMR Capital, where he drives the underwriting, financial due diligence, and strategic evaluation of new multifamily investment opportunities nationwide. His work ensures the firm deploys capital into high-conviction assets supported by rigorous financial modeling and data-driven market intelligence.

Before joining ZMR, Kevin was the Senior Analyst at the Sembler Family Office, contributing to both development and acquisition platforms. He spearheaded financial modeling efforts, authored investment committee memorandums, and supported asset management across a ~3,000-unit portfolio. Kevin played a key role in sourcing, evaluating, and closing over $400 million in Core+ multifamily transactions.

Kevin’s analytical foundation was built at Colliers International in Tampa, Florida, where he supported a 10-broker statewide multifamily investment sales team. There, he underwrote a diverse range of assets—from institutional Class A communities to value-add, privately owned properties—building a strong command of Florida’s multifamily market.

Kevin earned his BBA in Real Estate from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.

Melanie Toquica is the Transaction Manager at ZMR Capital. She specializes in ensuring a consistent flow of real estate opportunities from initial assessment through successful closing. She is also responsible for overseeing internal operations, underwriting investment opportunities, and assuring a steady and consistent communication channel throughout the entire transaction process. Melanie has over seven years of experience in the multifamily industry. Her previous roles include Investment Analyst, Transaction Manager, where she oversaw the successful transition of over 100 acquisitions and dispositions, and Client Service Manager, where she focused on implementing and executing strategic initiatives.
